Tipp, I'm with you. Besides, for a scifi junkie like myself, I can't get enough of it. The fact they based the spore drive tech off the teachings of Paul Stamets and gave a character in the show his name out of respect is really fucking cool.

Fuk, I started this thread and I haven't watched it, mainly because I'm too cheap to pay for a 4th streaming service. I paid for Disney+, and the Mandalorian, instead of CBS.

Many detractors have said Discovery attempts to make up for its bad plots by being woke as fuck. But I image the original series was considered woke as fuck in 1967.

And "bad plots?" Really? We are talking about the same TV & Film Universe that brought us Tribbles, Omnipotent but stupid Gods, and Kirk making gunpowder to kill a Sleestak. This is by far the darkest and most intimate series within that Universe, and it's a fucking hoot.
