Saving Email
I need to backup some emails to disk as I will be without a computer and that account will be closed soon (University account).
Is there any easy way to do this? I'm trying to do it with Outlook Express but I can't figure it out.
Help?
Edit: Or should I just mass forward it all to my gmail account?

Save them to a .pst file. Use the help menu to learn about .pst files
-
OE says "No Topic Found" for a search for ".pst"
I think I've got an old version of OE, I'll try it in another computer lab.

Get a gmail account and Forward them to that?

That whole pst. thing blows. I have tons of emails put to disk saved as pst.s (or were they dats?) and finally found the eight pages of directions for returning them to readable status and said fuck it.

See if you have pop access to your account. Then you can set up outlook to download the emails from the university server. Gmail has some good info on this:

If your university doesn't have POP3, they are definitely in the minority. Even Yahoo & Hotmail allow POP clients.
And if they don't allow you to "lease" the account past graduation (MSU does for ~$20/year), that's dissapointing.
I'd wager that they do have POP3 & you can set up OE to download all your e-mails. Google your university web site for specifics.
