So I just picked up a pair of salomon mtn lab in a 27.5 (311 bsl). I also have a pair of xmax 275 (315 bsl). If I mount a pair of wardens do you think I can set the warden in the middle of the forward pressure adjustment and not have to play with the adjustment when I switch between boots on the same pair of skis? Its a pain the ass that the 27.5 in both boots isn't the same bsl. Anyone ever tried something like this?
No, you need to adjust the forward pressure to the boots to get the correct release characteristics. Period.
It takes like 15 seconds with a screwdriver or pozi, being lazy saves you nothing.

There's no reason to skip this step, and of equal (greater?) importance, you should take the time to verify the toe height.
Toe height setting takes a minute or two per ski (paper or business card as a feeler gauge), so the 15 seconds to set the forward pressure is a no-brainer.
Even if you were swapping from one 9523 boot to another, you should check toe height clearance.

I know guys that will just step into whatever binding without checking I know I wouldn't lend them my skis
I wonder how many times bindings have been broken by forcing a boot into the binding that was set for a smaller BSL??

Wardens don't have adjustable toe wings. Not sure it they have adjustable toe height with the MNC toe piece. Definitely adjust forward pressure.
Yes, the Warden MNC 13 has adjustable toe height. It can accommodate a pair of Scarpa Maestrales which (from reports) require more upward adjustment than most ISO 9523 (AT) soles.
