Nice!
How far up did you go? Did you summit?

Beauty Norseman!

Snow looks like it's still worth the walk.
-
Yeah it does!
I really like that first picture

Thanks, dudes! Flett was suncupped a bit, but the Russell (especially up high) was silky. Some week old white was just corned up.

Great photography! That shot looking up at the seracs on Ptarmigan Ridge is awesome. Can't believe Dan and Eric skied it five years ago.

Thanks for sharing! looks like a great time.

glad this got bumped bc I missed it earlier today
So beautiful and snow looked good. mmmmmm
-
Nice! It hurts not getting in a Spray Park tour this year.
-
Not too late by a long shot. You must have other stuff going on, Steve...:)

The ice cliffs? Someone skied those?
-
^^Well, they skied a variation of the Ptarmigan ridge line that skirts the largest ice cliff. Pretty proud line regardless.

Didn't mean to TR-jack, it was just the first thought that came to mind when viewing Norseman's absolutely gorgeous photos.

Sweet! Thanks for the links.

That'd be a burly ski... making turns through the giant seracs would be cool as fuck and not too scary, but the traverse in the middle of the line would be freaky steep, and all with certain death exposure. It'd take just the right snow conditions.
Thanks for the photo... I love how beautifully it shows the undulating west edge of the Russell. So much good skiing on this side of the mountain! The Mowich Face looked primo smooth with a fresh crop of corn. Someone should go for it!
Great link, too. Love looking at the lines/names/dates of those big lines.

Are you talking about CMF or Edmunds Headwall?
I love the north side of Rainier.
-
The huge high face that both those lines share, at the top... but the Edmonds side more, I guess. Something dreamy about that enormous double fall line

That's on the ~W. flanks of the Russell Glacier, but I don't think those rocks are not prominent enough to be named.
You can see the slope and the two rock croppings on the middle left of this pic (not my pic, but taken from Observation Rock near the Flett headwall)
