TR: Greater Yellowstone Mega Trip Report!

I have a lot of photos from random excursions through the Greater Yellowstone region this winter, however each one doesn't quite add up to a trip report in its own right. So, here I will attempt to document the season thus far, with perhaps a second installment documenting the spring season posted this summer. Here goes... (Sorry about the watermarks, they're way bigger than I meant for them to be)

Winter was kind to us in SW Montana for the most part, the second half of January was particularly good:

An impromptu storm chase took us south to Jackson on the 17th to ski 17" of fresh snow in 24hrs!

As the snowpack began to stabilize we began to explore some more of the local backcountry surrounding Bozeman.

With continuing stability problems into early February I took the time to explore a fun forest fire burn in the NW corner of Yellowstone.

For better or for worse, most of February consisted of sun and high pressure. Managed to summit Hyalite Peak one day, although the views far exceeded the ski conditions.

The objective was the North Couloir off Abiathar Peak, a classic line just inside the border of Yellowstone NP.

A few good days here and there, but through most of February we patiently awaited the return of snowier weather.

Finally March delivered! Made it down to the Tetons for a few days over spring break and skied some of the deepest snow I think I've ever skied.

Next day consisted of a dawn patrol up 25 Short. Nothing like starting the day skinning beneath the stars in zero degree temps. Things warmed up a bit by the time I was approaching the top though.

View from the summit

Had the great privilege to summit and ski the East Face of the Middle Teton the other day. It was the capstone on a stellar season thus far!

We began the day with a 3am wake up. With the light of a nearly full moon illuminating the path to the high peaks that morning though, I wasn't complaining. Don't have any photos from the climb or skin unfortunately, but do have plentiful summit shots!

The East Face skied like an absolute dream. Perfect powder the whole way down. No photos from the descent as we were more focused on skiing down safely.

Canon 7d, lens is a mix between 17-40 f4L and 50mm f1.8 for the most part

And thanks for the camera info too. Kinda burly to haul that sort of system around but the results are obviously worth it. Great captures of the GYE, for sure!
