RIP Wes Foster
Wes was a great guy and a helluva mountaineer. Toured with him a few seasons in the wasatch before he moved to jackson for the better mountains and bigger lines. He was an extremely capable splitter and brought the right attitude to the hill. He knew the mountains, how to navigate them safely and had a drive to get out that inspired friends to do more than they thought was possible. Just a great guy to lose. Best wishes to family, friends and loved ones. I'll try to post some pics, they were some of the more creative and fun day's I've had in the backcountry. RIP buddy, will always respect and remember your ability, outlook on life and drive.

RIP Wes Foster
I knew Wes Foster for many years, we spent many days climbing and riding together. I am very shocked by his loss. I hadn't heard from Wes in several years; did anyone in the Jackson community see or talk to him before the accident? According to the reports it was a dangerous day to be solo touring, and I always knew Wes to be a decently smart guy when it came to terrain selection. Does anyone have any insight as to why he went out and skied a risky line solo that day? Was that just his normal routine? Did he discuss his plans with anyone?
PM if you'd like, thank you.
