Recently got a fancy new Olympus m 4/3rds toy & have had huge trouble finding a bag that fits... they are all sized to fit full size DLSRs hence are waaaay to fking big. Am I the only one that finds it crazy that the only bags available for these awesome smaller body cameras are way to big? What am I missing? jong away.
FWIW I'm looking for top loaded style bags.
I got nothing. But I wish I had something. I've been using a camera bag for my m4/3s thats way too big too.
I've been using an unpadded fanny pack for mine. I think it was $10 at a big box store.

That caselogic bag is still too big, I want a small bag to carry the camera, no extra lenses, a tiny pocket for spare battery & card. The 4/3rds cameras can be quite long with certain lenses but the body is small.

Guess I am surprised that there is nothing out there, esp because 4/3rds cameras have been round for a few years now.

I've got a Oly e-m5 with the weather proof 12-50mm lens. I have that Lowepro bag for now that I linked above & the depth is good (16cm). Also have a 25mm lens & I got a bag for a small point-shoot that fits it pretty well. The 25mm lens isn't weather proof so I wasn't planning on carrying it out & about all the time.
A couple of the caselogic look promising (eg: https://www.caselogic.com/en/interna..._-_101_-_black) but it says its 14cm so might be a fraction too small.
Beer coozies work for many of the lenses to resist dints and dings. I have seen one company making lens specific cases but they were shy high prices.Quote:

You looking for a dedicated bag or an insert into a regular bag? Would a POV case be big enough? I think Dakine makes one that struck me as really big for a POV, might work for a small camera.
Dedicated bag, to attach/carry the camera outside my day pack while ski touring etc so the camera is quick to pull out. My camera is weather proof so the bag doesn't have to be 100% water proof.
Most of the compact camera bags or the POV bags would fit if it was just a little pancake lens but not with the longer zoom lens.
I just ordered that lens bag in my last post, one dimension is -1cm (less than 1/2 inch) too small but hopefully it works. Seems to be the best option.
Mountain Hardware Swift 35 seems to be sized pretty well for my A7. Snug fit for the body and few lenses in the ancillary pockets of the main compartment.
I made my own bag. It's amateur but works really well. Fits my GF1 perfect and EM10 is a little tight, particularly with 12-40 2.8 lens. I put detachable straps so I can wear it while ski touring and take them off when I have it in a pack.
I have an em5 with the 14 to 42 lens and have it in a lowepro dash point 30 case. It's snug and doesn't work with a larger lens but I plan on it being used with my ski pack.
FWIW the lens change case has worked out pretty well. I took the divided out & sewed a little pouch (green thing) for spare battery, lens pen etc so they don't fall out.

I use a Think Tank Digital Holster 10 V2.0 for my Olympus EM-10. It fits my camera with any of the lenses that I own, all the way up to the 40-150 f2.8 PRO + MC-14 teleconverter. I have to reverse my hood when I have my 75-300 on the camera. It has a zippered pocket that holds the rain cover plus has room for 2 or 3 batteries. I use their pack attachment kid and mountain bike with hanging from the front of my pack.
For my lenses, I use the large Micro 4/3rds pouches from Amazon. They fit all of my glass except the 40-150 PRO and the 75-300 mm. They will also snugly fit the 12-40 PRO.
