Boarding Schools Suck!(relationship rant)
OK, some of you know that I go to a boarding school as a day student, I live at home with the folks because I live like five minutes from the school. Well, after a year and a half of striking out and being shot down I finally managed to find a girlfriend about 3 months ago.
One catch: the gf is a boarding student. For those of you unfamiliar with the prison-esque nature of boarding schools today, it goes something like this: Not allowed to leave campus unless its with parents/parental consent, they have to be in their dorms by 8PM 6 nights a week, classes on Saturday, phone lines and internet shuts off for the night at 8PM, no co-ed visitation, and the list goes on.
This makes it kinda hard to develop any kind of actual relationship, seeing as there is essentially nothing to do on campus and on the rare occasion she has free time, it usually presents itself in 15 minute windows :cussing: Not only is this a bitch from the relationship/friendship standpoint, it makes getting around to doing anything fun damn near impossible too, which is even more frustrating.
The catch on my end is that I really like the girl we have an almost eery amount of things in common, which makes things very natural and easygoing, if there was anywhere for them to go. Should I just let things fade admitting defeat at the hands of the school situation or keep trying even though it pisses us both off that we're stuck in such a shithole of a situation?
I suppose I should be happy just to have a girlfriend, but it doesn't feel like a relationship should at all, it feels half-assed, censored and convoluted. :nonono2:
