I may be in Seattle in November and was considering trying to squeeze in a day (or part of one) at Mt. Hood. Is it likely Timberline will be open? Also, is 3.5 hours a good guess to drive there?

I doubt it as the snowfield is in horrendous shape. But El Niño seems to hit the PNW with some small early storms that drop almost enough to open before the high pressure sets in totally drying us out for a while.
V.Unlikely.. also depends very much when in November. ranges from impossible to v.unlikely.
Worth it? Almost certainly probably not.
Even if it's open, I doubt it would be any good. Palmer took a big hit last summer.
Well, that sucks. At least I won't be dragging skis around (and won't have to rent a car) for marginal skiing. Thanks.
Closer to 4hrs without traffic. More to get up the hill if there is snow on the hwy along with slow unchained cars. Of course I seriously doubt these conditions in November!

3.5 hours... ? Not a chance.
I'd say give yourself at least 5 hours, maybe 6 in traffic.
4.5 if you drive 80mph on i5 in the middle of the night.
Not a day trip in my opinion.
