Anyone ever been to the San Blas Islands?

I know it's probably not a big surf destination but thought I might throw it out to the collective.

We'd like to go. We have a 3 year old. Because of a lot of stupid reasons, we'd use a package that leaves from Panama City, goes by truck, and stays on one island for one night, returning to PC the second day.

It costs a lot. Like at least $145 per person per day (not sure yet how they will bill my baby) including food, room, and transports.

What's the concensus? Worth it? Bocas requires either more time in a bus or a more expensive flight and looks too touristy for me.

A cheaper/easier Plan B would be the Perlas.
