Elevenmile Canyon - Fly fishing, hiking, and car camping

Got out this last weekend to Elevenmile Canyon at the Spillway campground. RV and Tent camping avail right on the river with focus on fly fishing and hiking. Fly fishing is catch and release within couple miles of the dam, well posted on signs. Never fly fished before so was fun for me to learn and catch the bug. Weather was rain, wind, and sleet. Cold and wet the whole weekend but hung in there.

last 2 pics are at top of ridge. 30 min hike up that gives great views. Elevenmile Res in the back, marina out of pic to the right.

fun, quick camping trip. Did not catch anything but had no idea what the hell I was doing. Great spot for fly fishing. our tent spot was lower left of pic above right on water.

Nice, we used to go down there a lot. Only fished a few times but spent most of our time climbing. Wagon Tongue road has some nice free camping as well, but not walking distance to fishing really.
