Bitches ain't shit but hos and tricks.
Shit, wrong album. My bad.
Good stuff for sure.
Was lucky enough to see The Boss live a number of years back and it was the song of the night, hands down.
Ironic..... am it the Jersey shore right now, first time ever. L.B.I.
I'm very biased as I'm a jersey boy. The Boss' music speaks to me. I related to it because he's speaking about my childhood. His songs literally paint vivid pictures in my mind. One of my favs is the op and this gem.
Fat man sitting on a little stool takes the money from my hands whiles his eyes take a walk all over you hands me the ticket smiles whispers good luck
I can just picture the dirty old carnie and 2 teens on a summer date.
Bruce is one of the strongest songwriters of our time.
the worst ever, even worse than Billy Joel.
fucking 'dad rock' blows.
I'm with Buttah.
Although I do like me some Talking Heads.
Fuck Bruce Springsteen. His shit sucks. It comes on the radio and the radio promptly changes station, or is switched off.
i might have one of his albums, and am not a big fan of his radio hits. But seeing him do City of Ruin and When the Saints at Jazz Fest a few years ago was unforgettably powerful.
Time is a river my friend, what is "Dad rock" to you now was the soundtrack to my 20s then.:cool:Quote:

I caught Bruce live during the River Tour.
3.75 hrs of him and the E-street band going all out. You don't get that kind of value in live music much these days. I walked in a skeptic and walked out a fan.
I also had the good luck to catch Billy Joel in a tiny venue in Indy just before The Stranger broke big. Billy Joel kicked ass live at that time.
My favorite song on that album:

Bruce puts on a show. Simple as that and when Clarence was alive man it was so good. He was my first concert ever.
Some don't like him and that's cool but he is no doubt one of the best songwriters ever. I can think of very few even close born past 1980 if any.
Did The Boss ever sing any good birthday songs?
Rolling Stone magazine placed "Thunder Road" as #86 on its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."
Hey! Get off my lawn!
S'okay, it's all good. You know what I find interesting? How a musician you might not like spawns others you do especially when the connection seem extremely unlikely. Take Jimi Hendricks for example, Bob Dylan was his idol. He followed him everywhere he could to soak up his genius and at the time Bob was a folk singer. Who would have thought?
Bruce has been around for 40 years and still going and in that time he has been credited with influencing postpunk, alternative rock, roots-rockers, hair-metal and even a soft-spoken English troubadour so even if you don't like him - he may just be responsible for bringing about a band you do like.
Now see there is a comparison I would not have made. I like the Talking Heads too but wouldn't have put them in the same category/genre.
I was amazed when I finally learned decades after it was a radio hit that he wrote Blinded by the Light. Seems so obvious listening to the words. Now I only imagine Bruce singing it. Saying he sucks is like 20s me saying Elvis sucked. I was never the biggest fan but he deserves the kudos w other greats
