At 5 months post op., I haven't been running much. I have been biking a ton, though, and am feeling in pretty good shape. So I told my 10 yr. old daughter that I'd run the local 5k road race with her. She asked if she'd have to wait up for me. I explained that my healing is progressed, and that MY speed wouldn't be an issue. The gun went off, and she took off like a rabbit, and my gimpy knee was not letting me keep up  ! 2 miles later, and I was still trying to reel her in, and suffering :cussing: . Thankfully, she wasn't able to hold her 7 minute mile pace, and I caught her in time for us to cross the finish line together. She came in second place to an 11 yr. old in the u13 division 24 min. 37 sec. Mixed feelings of pride and dismay. A year ago I was training for a marathon, then I blew my knee out at Tuckerman's. Now I can barely keep up with my 10 yr. old daughter, and it's clear I still have a lot of work to do. But we finished ahead of a lot of full grown men, soccer moms, teen age boys. Damn, my girl can run!
