Scratch BC 05-06 vs. any Gotama

Hi to everybody here. A few days back I had the chance to try next year's Scratch BC and I felt in love with it. Next year I'm gonna buy new sticks and I was thinking of the Gotama. But I have never been on it, neither on the Explosiv. And now I liked this Scratch. So if anyone has tested the new Scratch BC AND have been on Gotamas, could you tell me which one do you like better? How is the flex of one of them compared to the other? And so long...
The sticks are going to be my everyday skis. I'm going to ride them everywhere (but parks) - groomers, crud, pow, ice... I'm 184cm, 75kg., I like speed and long turns. I like stiffer skis, and really loved how the new Scratch bc is. So any comments of the Gotama compared to this Scrtach are helpfull. I have a very good deal for 03-04 Gotamas. Are they really softer than this year's?

What I would like to say is that with the gotama, it will be more your pow/soft day ski. Scratch BC may be more for the park and bc and less for the really deep stuff.

You are comparing different width skis. The gotama is a great one, even with the cracking/delam that's been happening on about 1/8 of the skis produced. But those who have the gotama love it on powder days. And I mean LOVE IT!!!

Or maybe 1000 different threads about the BRO model skis? Or 100 about the Gotama sidewall cracks? Or.... Fine - so be it. I'm surprised someone just hasn't provided a comparison between the skis, even if they hadn't actually tried the skis... like this...

"Sure, I can compare those skis. I read an article once about the Gotama. I hear it's a really good powder ski. And I saw the Scratch BC once on a chairlift. It looked pretty fat too; bet it'd be good in pow. Guy who owned it said he liked it a lot.

Flex? Yep, they both got plenty o' that. Given my druthers, I'd have to say that the BC has a more rounded flex, but that the Gotama is pretty competent at flexing when necessary.

I guess it really all comes down to whether you want a German Buddhist ski or a French BackCountry twin-tip ski. Schnitzel or escargot?"

FWIW, I skied both. Love the gotama, hate the scratch. But, for what you've said (one-ski quiver, penchant for stiff skis, etc), I would suggest you to try mantras, or legend pros, or

In other words, for me gotamas are quite pow-restricted, and scratches are too heavy and dump. Hope it can be of help

you're prolly right. I prolly meant damp. But, please, what exactly damp means? Looking at my oxford dictionary (you might have understood english is not my mother tongue), this word has nothing to do with skiing :rolleyes:

a damp ski is a ski that doesn't rebound the energy back to the rider, it absorbs the bumps while you are skiing so you don't feel them

the opposite of a damp ski would be a 'springy' ski or a snappy ski, one that feels like it recoils back and wants to throw you off it at worst or springs you into a turn at best
