Well, for a little while anyway. A severly sprained ankle on Saturday may shelf me for the rest of the season. Soonest I can get into the doc in next Monday (unless someone cancels). My lower calf, ankle, and foot are completely black and blue and swollen to double their normal size. Don't think I broke anything, but we'll see what the xrays show. Pretty gross and pretty painful.
2 mostly (about 90%) torn ligaments. The doc was able to move my ankle in ways that it isn't supposed to move, also did a drawer test(?), which he said "lots of movement there".
Good news is that they will heal on there own if I keep this damn brace on. Probably could ski in 2-3 weeks if my foot will fit in my boot and there is no pain. Can't believe how much swelling there is, can't even get my foot into any of my shoes. X-rays were negative, although they did reveal a fracture on my tibia (large bone?) from many years ago.
The snow will be around for awhile so don't rush it, but don't get to comfortable being a GIMP either. Tell the DOC to sign you up for PT and work the motha over until it's better. Don't exceed doc recomendations until after initial prescribed down time.
Get back out there and ski - but do it in working order
