Does anyone have any thoughts on the Head Mad Trix Mogul (181's)? I've been skiing on a pair of Rossignol Pow-Air Moguls (178's) for a few years now and am thinking about replacing them. I've been happy with them, but wouldn't mind trying something new.

I will try to help - I am a big fan of the Mojo's, like them in almost all conditions. However, as someone who grew up skiing at Saddleback and Sugarloaf and who now lives out west - I think the Mojo's might be a little wide for someone doing mostly inbounds EC skiing. I would take a lot at the Head Monster IM85/75 maybe - little stiffer, less underfoot, better for back east.
I have heard great things about the Mad Trix mogul, not such good things about the 1080 mogul, but haven't skied either one. I would search ebay for a. some cheap ass mambas, they may still be some left, or b. some unused Dynastar Assualts, those were great skis. If you really want to rip the bumps, then bump specific skis are the way to go.
AKPM, fuck that! Plake can have his crappy skies, give me short skis, soft tips, stiff tails, and next to no sidecut. The lack of bumps that you speak of pretty much means that I probably could never live in AK. Slaying bump lines is the next best thing to deep powder and steep trees.

I've heard good things about the Mad Trix as well. The Rossignol Mogul seems to have more twin-tip going on though, so maybe it offers a bit more versatility. I've found good deals on both, so it will probably come down to one of the two. I waited too long and missed out on some new Dynastar Twisters. I keep dropping hints to my wife, but no go (yet). Maybe she'll get me some for her birthday. Wait....that's not how it works, is it?

For a while there were a ton of K2 Mamba's on e-bay for like between 50 and 75 bucks. I don't know if they still have any up; I haven't searched for bump skis in a LONNNNG time.
Volkl Dragonslayer. Best bump ski around. Bomber construction and a small twin tip for playing around. There is a shop near me with a pair of 180's.
