Position: Snowcat Operator
Ski Arpa (
www.skiarpa.com) is seeking an experienced snowcat driver/mechanic/road builder for the 2014 season. The season lasts mid July to mid September.
Job Summary: Snowcat operator will be responsible for two Piston Bully machines at a backcountry snowcat operation in the Andes of Chile. Operator will assist guides with all mechanical duties, fueling, driving, etc. Must be able to live in a remote hut based in a high alpine environment. Also must be able to work in a small team and do a wide variety of odd jobs to ensure entire operation runs smoothly.
Operator will build snow roads, oversee all maintenance, manage fuel, drive guests daily, and perform all mechanical repairs.
Requirements:
3+ years as snowcat operator
Road building techniques
Mechanical skills preferably with Pisten Bully
Guest Service Skills
Additional preference given to:
Previous Cat Skiing Operation
Intermediate to Advanced skiing ability
Guiding/Avalanche/First Aid Certifications a Bonus
Spanish
Room and board included. Pay will be based on experience. Job interviews will be conducted in both Spanish and English. References will be required. Work visa provided. References will be required.
