"Mammut Advises Owners of Select Mammut and Snowpulse brand Avalanche Airbags to Inspect Deployment Mechanism
Williston, VT (March 5, 2014) –Inspections conducted by Mammut have shown that there is an assembly problem affecting individual Mammut and Snowpulse brand avalanche airbags from the Winter 2011/2012 and Winter 2012/2013 production seasons. The problem is an improperly screwed in connector between the deployment mechanism and the Ventouri valve.
This issue affects Mammut and Snowpulse avalanche airbags with Inflation System 2.0 from the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 production seasons. Avalanche airbags made before or after these seasons are unaffected. However, all airbag owners are advised to check the connection as part of their regular equipment check.
Mammut requests that owners of units from the seasons specified inspect the connection in accordance with instructions available on their website here. Because this problem could potentially result in a loss of function in the event of use, owners should discontinue use of their airbag immediately if it is affected by this assembly issue.
If a unit is identified as having an improperly assembled connector, the owner should contact Mammut customer service to arrange a free repair. Customer service contacts can be found below.

Sketchy.
This following the massive BCA Float recall and also the Ortovox ABS recall...
This is what we are talking about:
Attachment 152083
I'm sure someone who has one can comment on what Mammut told them, but it looks like the male end of the hose needs to be cranked a couple more turns into the female end.
I checked mine and no issues...
my roommate has one..
The threads are showing on my 2012 RAS pack as pictured, so will be sending back for sure. That said, the bag has always deployed without issue on the number of occasions where I drained the canister for travel. Have never inflated the balloon on the snow..
Just checked mine.... it's all good.
Thanks for the info, it's something I'll now keep an eye on.
another recall from snowpulse? fail
