Latest News on the Maggot Jersey

Okay, I talked to the folks at Verge the other day. I'm going with Verge for a variety of reasons- mainly convenience to me. I'm not going to go crazy just to save fifty cents per jersey.

I taked to Skiguide today. Within the next few days, we're going to set up a paypal account, and anyone who wants a jersey will have to put down a $25 deposit per jersey. We want to minimize people bailing at the last minute.

The design might not be exactly like the one on the other thread, but it will be similar (mainly, I might not be able to get the TGR stencil logo).

Sounds good... can't wait. Thanks for setting it up! It would be sweet if you could get the TGR logo... it really looks dope on the jersey.

What's the final price per jersey going to be? What's the order-to-arrival time?

I don't understand why we're not deciding on a supplier as a group. It's not really up to you if you want to save a few cents on a jersey, it's up to everyone, in my humble view.

There are several people who have offered to deal with Voler if we wanted their stuff. Why are you ignoring them?

FWIW, the folks at Verge are friends of mine and real solid, upstanding peeps. Tom would never steer us wrong for the sake of making another deposit. Plakespear and I have put some time in on this end and if you feel that Voler is the better product let us know, I know that Verge will do right by us and the product is totally top notch. The difference should be a dollar per or less. That and sometimes it just feels good to turn the biz to a friend ya know. :wink:

I'm dumb, but what style is this for? I don't look good in tight clothing...

What's the deal w/ the TGR logo? Is it a complete no-go, or is this just an issue w/ the "stencil" logo?

I hear you, Cornhole, but the project was dead in the water - no one but Plake had taken the lead, and the possibility of it ACTUALLY happening was fading as fast as the hopes for the Maggette calendar. Some people were getting bummed since they had gotten so stoked for the jerseys, but it didn't look like it was gonna happen.

and since he has the time into it already (designwise), plus a face to face meeting, plus the time to make it happen in the next few months - I do think he's got a right to make the call.

Plake did have some more details & we discussed some finer logistics, so we'll get that out to you as soon as we get it worked out. But as someone else said, the difference is likely less than a buck, for a similar product.

First, I'll admit to being biased toward Voler because I've been riding in their stuff for a few years, and I really like it. But that's not really the point--

In *all* of the other threads, you'll notice that there are prices and order times for Voler stuff. Wintermittent went through the effort to price out several possible options and included ship and order dates. Immediately after he posted this stuff, there was some "let's compare prices and then order!" talk, but we continued not to hear from anyone at Verge.

If we, as a collective buyer, want to buy Verge then I'm all for it. I understand that there are contacts there, and that's cool too. But, to say the "project was dead in the water" is just wrong. We have a Voler order sheet in hand for any of the designs in the other thread. Rather than charge ahead without consensus, we wanted to wait and get prices from all the manufacturers, then see what the maggots thought. Maybe we could have made that more clear, but the info is in at least 3 other threads. Sorry for the miscommunications.

I still feel the best way to go forward is to vote on 1) a design and 2) a manufacturer once all the chips are on the table.

However, if no one else cares, then I'll shut up and paypal my 25 bucks for my Verge jersey.

I just wanted to be clear about what *we* thought was going on.

I like the design. I'd definitly wear that during my races this summer.

If you build it, I will wear it.

Looks as if Plakespear and Wintermittent have both put a lot of time into researching options--thanks--and it seems to me they should make the vendor decision between the two of them. Trying to reach maggot consensus is a nice theory but a bad idea...it's a jersey, not a lifetime commitment. I'll happily play along with whatever decision is made by the mags who are throwing down the work to make this happen.

It's going somewhere- I've just been slammed the last two weeks or so. Working 60+ hours a week, plus looking for a new apartment, has been occupying a lot of my time recently.

if you need any help with legwork, calls, etc. let me know as I'm currently unemployed and boooored. I'm in NYC and have a car.

I can identify. (Well, not with the 60 hr work week thing cause I refuse t do that shit unless somebody is paying me some mega cash. I have a family that I do like to spend some time with. But I digress.) After reviewing my earlier post, it sounded kinda bitchy. I didn't mean it that way, I was just wondering what the status was.

What's the word on this? I thought the ordering deadline to have them by riding time (oops...too late) was coming up fast. I'm planning on doing a few races this summer and would love to rock the maggot style. From what I'm reading, it looks like the design is pretty well finished, it's just a matter of pricing of Voler vs. Verge and taking orders from everyone. If there's anything I can do to speed this up...let me know.

Final jersey will look something like this- the BroPlane will be on the sleeves, and there will be a www.pmgearusa.com on the side panel. Trying to come up with a cooler looking TGR logo, but as far as layout and colors go- this is more or less what it will look like. The colors have changed slighlty for before- this is to use Verge's stock color palettes.

Not to highjack your design, but might I offer the following modification?
What do you guys think. I feel like it runs a littlemore low key and laid back, gets away from the standard big logos in your face design I can work up a front if you want.
