I have three days there from my season pass to my local mountain. It's an 8 hour drive. If they have good snow, is it worth going and sleeping in the car and skiing for 3 days? Or would it be better to save the gas and spend it on a lift ticket somewhere between Denver, Jackson and slc (all much closer)?

have you looked at the trail map?

i can do about half a day there before i get bored.
-
Yeah but I couldn't tell. It looked small but potentially fun.
I guess that's a no then. Having free days is so tempting. Too bad for the resorts that I'm the worst customer - I sleep in my car and pack my own food haha

We've spent a couple 2-day trips down there in the past. if it's dumping, it's actually quite nice; mellow angle pow, some nice exploratory areas and barely any traffic. It is relatively flat, as compared to other steep and deep locations, but overall it's worth a look, at least once, IMHO.

Thanks. Would you say it's worth an 8 hour drive? The trade off is that for the gas, I could go somewhere I've never been and buy a lift ticket, or take a big backcountry trip somewhere closer (eg the Tetons)

only if you can huck into the stay puff gnarsmellow bag

Oh fuck yeah, I'm all about dem gnarshmallows.
The question is, can you huck your fish with the gnarshmallows?
