Cletus needs to know...are the rod/cable sets on the R-8s symmetric and interchangable, or dedicated L and R foot?

When I first looked at them, they looked asymmetric (which made sense to me in my mind, you know, cause of asym boots, etc), so I figured there were dedicated L and R rods. But I couldn't find any markings, and now that they're on, they look identical.

The real reason I ask is that in that first moment when I looked at them, and they looked asymmetric, I could have sworn that I'd ended up with two left feet.

I bought them online (gulp), and the original manufacturers box was open (gulp), which was fine given the price I got on them - maybe they were store displays or something, AS LONG AS THEY DIDN'T SEND ME TWO LEFT FEET, cause I'm gonna go ballistic on those mutherfuckers if they did! :FIREdevil

hmmm.... I have those on my hippy stinx. If I'd skied them more recently I might remember better. But I can look at mine when I get home later and let you know. I have left and right skis - but that might just be a matter of which side the leashes are on and not the way the bindings are set up.... They were demos so I didn't put the bindings together myself.

Definitely L and R plates (leash attachment points, yup), but I am wondering about the rods. The left boot just doesn't seem to fit as cleanly as the right, so I am suspicious. I think I might have two right feet, actually. But mebbie it's just me and simply they need to get a little broken in...

When I looked at the thread title, I thought your were talking about Cobra radios!

I think theyre symmetrical. As you said, the toepieces are L and R...but i havent noticed and differences between the rods.
Ill look tonight when i get home.

I looked last night and they look the same to me. I'd think that if there were lefts and rights they'd be marked somehow?

As you can see from their spare parts catalogue they only make two different rods.

I have these bindings on my Explosives now and I've actually broken a couple of rods this season. When I assemble the bindings again the "fresh one" makes them look a bit asymmetric. You probably just need to break them in.

and a pretty damn solid binding. i have about 25 days on mine now and am loving them.
