I got a pair of leather swany gloves... really comfy, but also really wet... what do I put on them to keep out the wet?
also, I have a pair of foursquare pants that have lost their waterproofyness -- scotchguard or something else??
help needed.

For leather, I use "sno-seal" - kind of a beeswax thing you rub into the leather.
(surprised that Swany's dont have a gore tex liner)
For cloth, you can use DWR or NikWax, but I find Scotchguard is better if you really want to repell water.
If the gloves are leather, look for this shiz called Obenaufs - its the best leather treatment. All natural. Or use NikWax for leather.
For the pants, their is this wash-in /dry-in spray called Revivex. It will make them more waterproof than the day you bought them.
To clarify, the Nikwax I referred to was a wash in product for clothes.
Didn't realize they sold so many different products:

They also make a spray on, which I think I would like better than the wash in.
With wash in (actually rinse-in), once I made a bucket of solution, I felt obligated to treat every one of my jackets and pants.
Also, didn't seem as water repellent as spray on (scotchguard) solutions.
Will try spray-on Revivex or Nikwax next time.
