The assumption by people in the community is that you did it on purpose.
It's a smarmy way of building link stats and click through on the shoulders of what appears to be pear group endorsement at a casual glance.
I've gone onto their facebook page and complained several times about it (big surprise that they pull down the comment each time).
If you don't like it, I would suggest doing the same, or complain to their affiliates.
