Waterproofing a Canon 7D on a budget?

Any good options out there for making a Canon 7D with 15-85 lens waterproof? I dont actually plan on going underwater with it, but I will have it with me on a very small inflatable boat (basically a toy haha) in the ocean, and there is a small but measurable chance of that boat failing/capsizing and having to swim back to shore so it'd be nice to have some piece of mind. I really want to be able to take my good camera in the boat and not just my crappy waterproof P+S.

The only cheap option I found is something like this: DiCAPac WPS10

Is that a good waterproof bag or can I do better? My max price is a couple hundred bucks here.

I guess another option is a pelican case. They float ( I think?), and are waterproof Ill just have to be real careful while it is out of the case.

But if you needed it for any real period of time I would assume buying one and then selling it used would be cheaper.

I think you've got the right idea with the DiCAPac solution. You should be able to shoot without worrying about sea spray or accidental submersion. I've got a Storm Case (now Pelican?) for taking my DSLR along while whitewater kayaking. They float, are padded and are generally handy to have around for the long term if you're OK with taking the camera in and out of the case. The only other option I can think of is something like Ortlieb's Aqua Zoom (http://www.ortliebusa.com/CartGenie/prod-42.htm). It's not made for submersion, but it'll float, so it's a slightly riskier proposition. I've seen them used in canyoneering a bunch. It wouldn't be as much protection as the Pelican case, but it would be more convenient to have on you.

I highly recommend the one I listed for splash protection. Didnt degrade picture quality at all IMHO:

Im still worried about submerging it with just a bag like that, but for splash protection on a small dingy it is all good. If I were scuba diving with it, Id splurge and get one of those fancy carbon fiber >$1000 contraptions. But the bag worked for my purposes just fine
