They don't come to any conclusions other than it's dangerous.
There is little doubt in statistics, more users will have more accidents.
A 300% increase in airbag sales would indicate a growing market of people putting themselves at risk. Some are new users, others in that percentage will be longtime backcountry users increasing their odds of survival.
