tahoe lodging advice?

Anybody have advice on cheap lodging options in tahoe city area or possible short term rentals in early to mid-Feb?


I'm headed there for a meeting in early february and am hoping to extend a few days on either end and ski. I have a pass that'll work at Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Kirkwood, so I'd like to check them out and maybe squeak in some backcountry action too.
I'm also hoping it'll snow there between now and Feb!

Any advice on lodging, transport from Reno airport, and skiing the area would be appreciated.....
