From -35deg C on Saturday to +5 deg C this morning and about 6" of wet, heavy elephant snot on the ground. Avalanche ratings are rated as extreme today...so much for all that sweet dry as toast pow we had last week :frown:

Well, this has been so sad that this is beginning to be funny.
In a suddem fit of depression i reserved flight tickets today for two different places AND bought my self a pair of telemark bindings.
I wonder with what i am going to pay them with...
Cheers.
yeah, seriously. it's coming in strong off the coast right now- they are saying anywhere from 6" to 10" of RAIN in the WA Cascades (we've already had about 3" of rain in Seattle and it's 54F right nowQuote:

sorry to hear the Pineapple made it across- was hoping at least the rain would change to snow as it moved East.
Consider yourself lucky...... The PNW has not had a season yet. Alpental is closed and the Snoqualmie could be next. Crystal is 50% open and soon to be unskiable if this rain keeps up. I now have a fine collection of junk that once were skis.Quote:

I dunno about the areas where you have been skiing but the Kootenay b/c has been pretty sweet this winter.Quote:

Should find some knee protectors and learn to telemark mentally in the meantime.
And for the flights, no, not coming up to canada this winter... :(
Hit the north within 2 weeks and Monte rosa in march.
Luckily we had 2wks of good skiing in the alps in christmastime, so have gottensome turns here too..
And dude, post some pics, it brings some relief to this misery.
;)
That sucks!! I'm glad I got a few fresh turns in the cold snow this past weekend at Fernie. We had a great day finding fresh turns on the whitepass chair and easter bowl off of the meat hook.
I was hoping the rain would stay away. Anyone know if the Horse was hit with the rain too?
In case I've never mentioned it before, Beaver is full of bullshit.Quote:

Banff's joined the rain parade now too. It's been pissing all evening. It's freezing on contact too. Pretty funny watching people walk outside. Hey, gotta see something psitive in it. It's right around 0C right now and hopefully it turns to snow overnight, or been snow at the hills. Keep your fingers crossed.
Satrted pissing up here last night as well. Apparently there has been only snnow at Marmot but I would like a second opinion on that. Currently drizzling in town. This is the first time I can remember it raining three times before April in ten years.
My poor Fernie.
I could cry.
Excuse me while I go puke.

Now I know why I was avoiding Craigs Report today, so much for staying in denial.
Yup, pretty depressing :( ...if only another Arctic front would come in on it's dogsled bound for hell and do battle with this tropical punch...maybe we'd end up with a few feet. It's happened before.
Kinda sounds like a wet dream... a frozen wet dream, not a rainy one! ;)
This SUCKS !!!!!!
That is all.
Man what a bummer. This 'tropical punch' really bites. Hopefully this next wave that's about to send our rivers once again into overdrive and take out another 6"-10" of base this weekend will end up as snow your direction.
I think we still gotcha beat though, with all our lifts closed (and some places yet to open for the season  ) - that's a record I'd like to forget about

Yup bad year for sure...I guess we could have it a lot worse.Quote:

Damn! :cussing: I just looked out the window and it's pissing again!
Maybe we should all go bum around Utah for the winter. At least they got a huge base before this crap started.
