if it was me, i'd go Coaster to Trolley and just grab a yellow cab after walking across. Actually not true. I'd have at least one bacon wrapped hot dog con todo first.
Not a Taxi Libre tho...
We're driving to Otay Mesa, park, walk across, shuttle....

Bring bungies if you have boards and go the taxi route, I was sure my boards were going to fly off the roof. TJ airport was kind of a hassle but we were running late. Hopefully someone in your crew is fluent in Spanish cause we were getting jerked around even with 2 guys fluent.
Overall pretty easy but none of us had walked across for a flight before, so we were learning on the fly. It was a fairly long walk back with 2 boards and other bags.

Yea, i guess so. Just wondering what other people's experiences have been. Why no Taxi Libre? We found a lot of reviews saying that you should go out of your way to get a Taxi Libre...Quote:

The way we decided to go worked out really well. We just drove down to Otay Mesa boarding crossing which sees WAY less traffic San Ysidro. Parked at this random little parking spot (Morales auto storage) that charges $2/day. They drive you to and from the boarder. You just have to grab a taxi, which is way less painful on the Otay Mesa side because it's a lot close to the airport than San Ysidro. We left the car there for 4 days, so parking was only $8.
quick tip: Bring a screwdriver and a flash light. They suggest that you remove your license plates.
^Sounds identical to what we did except we got dropped off by family and didn't park down there. There is a walkway to the border from the dropoff spot, about 150 yards or so. Removing the license plate is not something I would have thought about but is definitely $$ advice.
So, did you score some waves?
Yeah! That south swell filled in nicely and the wind stayed at a minimum. Couldn't ask for a better little surf get away!
