these are a few books and movies that come to mind. the books are in order of how i would rank them (ie. exellent, great and good).

Trempers book--Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain---excellent read. very complete.


Snow Sense---great first avy book. an introduction and beyond.


The ABC's of Avalanche Safety---good starter book. i'd still recommend snow sense first.



Winning the Avalanche Game---a little older but still relavant. buy a book first.



video-- Think Like an Avalanche---good video but not nearly as complete as any of the books.
