Look up Forrest McCarthy, he lives in Jackson. Should be easy to find. PM me if you can't. He would probably be into it, and if not, would be able to point you in a good direction.
How competitive?
Depending on the snow, 8-9hrs to be in the top 5, maybe less if it's hard.
I've seen some people at 15 hrs., that did not look too happy.
Fairly competitive, Im not going out to win or anything but i would like to get a good time in no doubt.
Paging "KARL STALL".
Dude, congrats on finishing the Leadville 100! With all that running, your in shape, what have you got to train for next?
He's a rippin part time Aspenite, that is now in really good shape, whom I will now be struggling to keep up with.
I'll send him a pm to see if he's up for this?
Yeah that would be great
To the top, any word shredhead?
I won't be around for the race but if you wanted to just do the route sometime in the spring I might be around and would love to. There is a small chance I'd be around for the race but I'd kind of prefer to do it some other time.
I wouldnt really mind doing the race, but their equipment requirements, specifically an extra binding, pretty much nixes that for me. Not sure what terrain there they think is capable of breaking anything besides a tele binding, but I wouldnt be competitive in the race with coombas and dukes anyways though so might as well do it sometime more peaceful. I'll look forward to hearing from you round the tail end of the season.
looks like a cool race. Looking through the pictures it looks like a skate ski show, although the rules say you need some type of metal edge. Are people making up special skis?
Yeah mostly rando race skis. Ive herd of a few people thinking of rockin a rando race ski with scales, just a dynafit toe piece and a f1 or tlt 5 type boot and just a cork or something for a heel piece. super efficient but real sketchy on any sort of decent i would imagine
Yeah a ton of people have a hard time getting a hold of a two toe pieces as back ups for the race but yeah its definitely an intriguing route.
