keyhole ski resorts
i was messing around with keyhole and decided to see if I could find some ski resorts. For those of you who dont know keyhole is a program that has satellite pictures from around the world and has a bunch of pretty cool features to mess around with. the main problem is that once you get away from the big cities the resolution of the photos gets very poor. In general the resolution isnt that great anyway, as I understand it the images you see below are composite images made up of may photos take at different times along with elevation data that the computer uses to make it look 3D. Anyway here are some of the places that I was able to find... as you can see, some of the resorts look like shit, and some of them are good quality (in the pictures i mean)

That's awesome.
In the kirkwood shots, photo one shows some excellent detail. The cirque is the big shadow area on the left.
In the lifts photo, the bases of chair 1, 11, and 10 are on the left, and chair 5 & 6 are on the right. Chair 10 base is the one right beside the big R floating across the sky.
