Today, I was working the face lift when I saw this guy loading the lift with a PM sticker. I asked him if he had change for a nickel, and it turned out to be one of the calgary mags "Oarhead". Oh, and I also saw Fernie Free Heeler, but he is a local.

The conditions are good, but most of the pow has been tracked out. Two guys say today that Fish bowl was untracked and deep blower pow. It was a blue bird day today, except it was fricking cold, -28 at the face lift this morning.
If you were working the face lift, you'd have seen me yesterday as well. Nothing as distinguishing as the PM sticker on the t@nkers, though.
Although, I was, uhhhh - daydreaming, yeah - when the lift came around and likely looked pretty stupid when I woke up and tried to catch it.
I usually get 20-25 days at Fernie - red jacket, grey pants, black helmet and either black/orange scratch bc's or Elan777's with Freerides - ask for change if you see me.
yo Canuks - is skiing as expensive in Canada as it is in the states? Factor in more than just gear...lift tix/passes, high cost of ski towns, gas to get to them expensive as hell, etc...
to do it regularly here, you need either a pretty good addiction (and a fairly good job to help you withstand your addiction) to the sport, or you need to be rich-as-fuckin-hell.
It can be, but getting the early season pass deals and carpooling makes it decent. I likely spend $3500-4000 a year including gas, pass and day tickets when I travel outside the 4 hills my pass covers (I get the pass fom my work, though - which just means I buy gear with that money).Quote:
