Back from hell, lets go skiing

Now that I have been back to Philly 5 times since i moved away 2 years ago, I finally believe I am done with the place. Man I love philly, but don't want to live there again. People are just plain miserable. Wawa on Xmas-eve, people were just plain grumpy. Come on now, its fucking christmas!! Show some cheer. Just made me realize how I use to be that way, how much I've changed to enjoy all moments of life. I do believe skiing has influenced me greatly in this department, as well as hanging out in this cheery place :rolleyes: All kidding aside, I love my family, I love my friends, but I love Colorado too.

Short horror flying story:
Flying out of Philly on the 27th, my plane was delayed 90 minutes and I had a connecting flight in Chicago. I see the counter lady, she puts me on a flight that is leaving 30 minutes early, then winds up leaving 60 minutes after my original flight actually leaves. Gets me into O'hare late, i book all the way across from F terminal to C terminal in 10 minutes with wife and bags, miss the plane by 5 minutes. Get on standby for 2 remaining flights of the day, NO go. No one will fess up to who should be putting me in a hotel (US air coming in and United going out) so we crash at the overpriced Hilton at 11pm, back in the airport at 5:30am, don't make the next 2 flights on standy, because there were 80 people on standby :the_finge Finally get a good Customer service person who sends me to Memphis, then to Denver (thank you patron saint), otherwise there were no flights with space in them till Thursday. So Fuck you very much US airways and Untied. There are many letters of complaint coming your way, hopefully I will see something in return. chances are that US air will not be in the air for much longer though.

Now I am not working for the rest of the week. I am happy to be home in my house with my 2 pups. It feels like the holidays actually just started when i got home.

Now who wants to go skiing??

Sucks. I beleive Hev is still in CT after trying to leave on Sunday.

Crinkle someone told me you were from Scranton which is where I grew up. I got lucky, this year I flew to Newark to save some money and it just happened to be the only one of the airports anywhere near me that did not have serious problems.

I have taken to sitting in the fetal position in front of my computer looking at ski pictures rocking back and fourth and sobbing.

people ask what I do for fun. Do I ski? DO I SKI?!?!!? WTF? I just nod and say, "yeah i ski a few times of year, its real NEAT" They can't possibly relate so i don't even try.

Lurch, I'm from Willow Grove, right outside PHilly. Dated a girl in Allentown once, that was as close as i got to spending time in Scranton.

No one wants to ski? I am gonna gape tommorrow at A-basin.

Foggy, want some of my new and improved raquetball game?

Ah the old Wawa confusion issue. Only us Philly types know what a Wawa is. For those not from the area, Wawa is a better version of a
7-11. Nice sandwiches, great coffee and nice folks working there. I'm sort of addicted to their coffee.

I'm right there with you Crinkle. I tried to get back to Detroit for Xmas this year, made it to Cinncinati and got stuck in that storm. After 2 days stuck in the airport I decided that a) Cinncinati sucks and b) Detroit is even worse. Fuck this shit. Flew home. Family wants to see me they can come out here.

All gas comes from the same pipeline, shell might take out gas in PA that exxon put in in Texas. the only difference is the additives they might put in before they ship it to the local gas station.
