Whats there to do for a 17 year old at whistler at night? Is there night skiing (that would be prefreble) I'm assuming theres some all ages/ teenage clubs. ANybody know good spots for folksy/indie music live? I certainly don't want to spen 3 nights with my family ;) Note I'm staying in the village and not creekside. Another random question how far are the little ski areas from vancover? Anybody want to let me film/ photo them (bike)riding the shore and let me tag along this march?
seeing as how the drinking age is only 18, you should be able to get into most places, but i dont know how strickt they are about that in whistler. when i was in tremblant (also an intrawest town) they didnt seem to card to much.
Note: the later you go to a place the better your chances of getting in

Cypress, Grouse and Seymour, in order of desireablilty and also from west to east are directly above Vancouver in the mountains on the north shore. I can see their lights (for night skiing) from Bellingham. On a clear day you can see some of the runs at Grouse. If you're going to be around Vancouver, you might think about coming down to ski Baker.
I don't know about any underage clubs at Whistler or exactly what you mean by folksy/indie music. The Dublin Gate has some folksy music though, Irish, bluegrass, folk rock. Usually duos or trios. It's a licensed premise and a restaurant, you can get in to the restaurant part and still see and hear the music. There is also a music store where you can find out whats happening. No night skiing of any consequence.
My bed is calling me so I can dream of the 2 ft of new I have to get up early to drive up to. Nighty night.
Baker is what 2 hours? is there a bus or something I could take down there in the morning? Wow I'm stoked for march :D
the drinking age is 19. and carding is off and on. If I was you I'd hook up with some people and find a condo/hotel party in creekside. I'm 17 and just got back from whistler and getting into clubs was difficult but not impossible. also a making a fake id w/ a scanner and paint worked quite when.(use photo paper)
I don't so much care about drinking (cause I don't drink) but hanging out listing to musice dancing ect. is always fun, especially if everyone else is drunk :D

Baker is 3.5 hours away and there are no busses. Greyhound has bus service from Whistler to Vancouver and might have stops in West and North Vancouver to go skiing.
Whistler is adding a night terrain park at the bottom of Blackcomb.
I'm sure barring super deep powder at baker (which actually is a possibility with el nino) that i will be riding the shore a bit around that time. Do you really think you're up for it? :biggrin:Quote:

fuck, 19???, I'm only 18 and i am going in 3 weeks, this could ruin my whole plan! I will be 2 weeks shy of my 19th birthday when i am there. lets hope they dont card.
Oh man i'm gonna feel really old then. Here in the states i am just legal ( recently turned 21) but when i head up to whistler in 2 weeks i'm gonna feel old being at bars with teenagers, haha.
Bouncers will (in my experience) always card, waiters and bartenders are a bit more lenient depending on the day of the week. I would arrange to borrow a friend's ID if possible as it is known throughout the rest of the world that all americans look alike. Unless of coase you are a female in which case you can buy heroin from mounties pending major, sexually debilitating deformaties.

PS: beleave it or not, they are suppose to card anyone under 25 and you need two pieces of id. One with pic and one to back it up.
