WWMD :: Free Plane Ticket

So I might be getting a free plane ticket. Won't get into details, but I think it's gonna be good worldwide. What should I do? It may expire by Feb, which will throw wrenches into the works, but not something I'm overly concerned with when getting a free plane ticket.

Option 1: It has to be used by end-of-February '05.

Option 2: No expiration date.

Since I live in Utah I'm thinking about not using it for a snowboard trip. Actually, thinking about taking a trip to Fucking Costa Rica. I've got family down there and haven't kooked out on waves in a while.

Another option is taking a trip with the wife. This will only work if it doesn't expire any time soon, though, as she's got no vacatioin for a few months.

Hrmmm...hrmmmm....

If its good worldwide - fly to Thailand and hit the beach there for a week or so with your special lady friend. Its not too expensive from what I hear (could be wrong), and looks beautiful.

Well, it depends on what "worldwide" means, since tickets seem to be good between regions... but if I had a ticket to anywhere in the world I'd pick somewhere like africa or asia where air travel prices are the primary obstacle to my visiting them.

If it's only good on a US airline or limited to europe/americas or something, I'd probably go back to Ecuador or down to Argentina/Chile/Peru... or to Japan or China or Australia/NZ since most US airlines seem to head that direction as well.

dude, go to palau in the south pacific. its got THE BEST scuba diving in the world, and it looks sooo beatiful. i would go there in a second, but its like 2000 just to get there.

You can get to Costa Rica pretty cheap usually, I imagine, so why not use it for somewhere that fares are rarely low? I'd think seriously about New Zealand or Australia sometime during their summer (which would work well if it expires in Feb.).

nah, you can find cheap flights to Thailand outta SFO and LAX for the lady....well under a $1000 RT if you go off peak, mid-week, and do a layover somewhere....

and once ya get there, its dirt cheap if you hit some islands and stay in the bungelos, etc...

Cheap tickets for your wife...

You can get cheap tickets for your wife to expensive places if she flies courier...I've done it and it's really easy and safe. Round trip to Hong Kong or Thailand for $450 - $500. Or to other major destinations as well. The tickets get more expensive the earlier you book them, but if they've got room and you book last minute the prices go down so it's a gamble but can pay off.

I definately recommend Thailand - cheap prices and the beaches are great. Delicious meals for a dollar or two, moped rentals for a few bucks a day, a bungalow on the beach for the two of you for three bucks - it's a beautiful thing. Clear blue water, scuba diving and snorkeling, or trekking in the wilderness in the north. Riding elephants and taking bamboo rafts over waterfalls and over dams. And the country is set up for English speaking travelers, you can get everywhere with no problem. I was there with another girl and we got along in the country famously.

Seriously, I wouldn't go to Thailand if I could pick one spot in the world. I'd hit NZ summer fer sure.
