Basin Thursday @ the MINI

Aight, I'm just going to go ahead and post info for snowbasin on Thursday for those who are interested. Feel free to suggest alternate meeting places/times/etc.

First off, early season lift tickets, all day adult: $39

Areas open: Middle Bowl, Porky, some of John Paul (Women's Downhill). Probably high speed groomer laps on JP plus a little random exploring to get a feel for the mountain.

Probable number of people on the hill: 100-200

Possibility of parking in Lot A regardless of arrival time: 100%

Meeting Time: 9am
Meeting Place: The Moose (you can't miss it), or my car (red subaru) if you happen to park next to me and want cookies.

BP and his fam are amazing cooks. the day i broke my wrist, after, he gave me a whole container of cookies. i guess if that's what it costs, i've still got one more good wrist to spend. :wink:

I will be there. Is the Moose at the mountain or on the way, but as you say it can't be missed.

The moose is between the two base lodges on your way to the gondy. There's kind-of a whole "Sword In The Stone" mythology to the sculpture. When the one who is worthy arrives they shall remove the sculpted bronze turdlet from the statue and get a 20% discount on fries at the cafeteria. It's really a brilliant marketing scheme.

Not sure if anyone has tickets to bring in, but could be helpful if you do... then it'd be $19.50 all day, assuming they're starting with the current early season price.

I have 2 from this season that I am taking over to Flyks in just a bit. Hope they help someone.



Glade, if you are going to Basin, bring all the tickets you have racked up to get a deal for you and maybe all there.

I've got two I can bring as long as I don't have to have them attached to a jacket, plus Buzz's two, so four people for cheap.

oh, and the cookies are a random untested chocolate chip pecan cookie recipe... they're decent, but not quite as good as some of the other ones I could have done. I suppose it's only 8pm and I could make another set... don't count on it, though.

I don't have any tickets from this year yet, so I'm no help.

Talked to Glade. They are coming too and will bring some tickets as well. They will be there by 9.

aight, one last bump just in case...

also, if you have multiple pairs of skis (bastards, all of you! ;) ), you might want to bring the ones with the sharpest edges, best hardpack-at-speed stability, etc. if it warms up it could be nice and corny, but it will be pretty solid in the morning regardless.
