Parvovirus B19 sequelae

Hey, so my toddler comes down with fifth's disease (slapped face rash caused by parvovirus b19, common kids disease) but low and behold I never had it as a kid and get it. Kinda like the common cold except when I start to feel better my joints start aching and then swelling up. We're talking 6-7/10 joint pain through my whole body (spine excepted) with marked swelling. Looked it up and it is not uncommon. This is self limiting 1 week to 2 months. If it goes 2 months there goes the whole f'ing ski season. Anyone else out there ever had this happen? My internal medicine wife and her retired internal medicine dad have never seen it. If so, what helped? Gotta tell ya, ibuprofen and tylenol dont really cut it.....
