Utah Mini; The Forecast
Ok gang, I'm going to tell it like it is. The good news is conditions in the BC will be settling down dramatically from the insanity going on now; we now have a total of four likely deaths from this one avalanche cycle. :(
It looks like we'll have a small storm moving over Northern Utah on Tuesday night and Wednesday, which will produce some fresh snow in the mountains. On the high side, this one could bring 6" tops- its really not in a postition to tap into any deep moisture.
Thursday looks like a cloudy day, with temps in the mid 30's at 8000', so it won't be terribly cold. It will freeze at night, with lows around 15.
Friday looks to be sunny, and just a bit warmer, with a good shot at 100% bluebird conditions....
Saturday also looks clear, at least in the morning.
By afternoon, some high clouds should move in, with another brush-by storm possible for Sunday . Again, that one's not looking major right now, but could produce more mountain snow.
Now, all of this could change for one simple reason; I'm heading down to South Florida on Monday morning for 3 days ...so something exciting weather-wise is bound to happen in Utah while I'm gone...

Thanks for the forecast.
I find it to be an appealing one for hopefully fun and safe touring in the backcountry. And for you out of towners, the corn is pretty good right now, atleast up in Logan anyway.
So why don't you skip the resorts on friday and head to the Uintas with Gramps, Lumpy and I. Just a thought.

The Duece You Say!
I just don't think that shall suffice!
Oh what hard times are these when passing storms can say Ni at will to LCC.There is a pestilence upon the land.Even those who arrange & design figure 8's are in extreme economic distress in this period of magdom.
