First glimpse of the forecast for the Utah Mini.

First, a caveat; I would never put this forecast on TV, or share it with the general public.

Second, this is based on the GFS- which runs out to 16 days - but is generally only used for 3 to 10 day forecasting.

Third, my confidence decreases with every day past #10.

The green on this map over Utah for the weekend of 12/17-18-19/04 is a very good sign! As long as that low pressure center develops over Northern California, you'll see lots of smiles around here...it's the one with "303" on it.

I'm not headed to the mini, but I am just curious about that big green spot over the north east...how do you tell if its rain or snow or is this just a precipitation map?
