East Coast Avalanche Safety Course

I'm looking to put together a group to take an avalanche safety course, probably on Mount Washington. Would anyone have any recommendations on what organization/guide to take it with?

has several listed, but I'm trying to get a feel for who has a good reputation.

We're a bunch of cheap Montreal students, so price would be a factor as well, but not if it's at the expense of experience and thoroughness.

I could probably get a group of 8-12 people together, so group discounts would be a plus.

I've heard many good things about Chauvin.

Does the CAA have anything in the chic chocs? If so I would go that route.

Suggest checking out the driving route for Montreal > Gaspe before recommending it.

Looks like two providers offer courses based in Montreal, with one combining Montreal sessions with Mount Washington:

(The listed course dates shouldn't be a concern since your group is more than large enough to justify its own course.)

I'm going to look in to those 2-day awareness courses, we'd probably all be complete east-coast jongs when it comes to avy terrain.

I took an AIARE I with Dave Lottmann (http://www.emsclimb.com/info/guides/lottmann.html) of EMS rock climbing last winter and really learned alot.
