So as of about 5 hours ago I was still a concert virgin. A 21 y/o virgin, what a sad sight! Anyways I got a last second chance to go see the THE PIXIES which were AWESOME. I'd say it was an excellent first.

I guess that's a nice first concert, but what the hell took you so long?
My first concert was the B-52's circa 1983. Not real cool, but at least it wasn't some hair band.
Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl back in the mid 70s or so.
Heh, Def Leppard - 1982. Sorry, but I got to give "Rock of Ages" a higher ranking than "Rock Lobster". ;)Quote:

Dromond, now that you've popped your cherry any other bands on the horizon?

I can't argue with that!Quote:

First concert - The Police on the "Synchronicity" tour. I guess it was 1984.
There were two opening acts: The Fixx and A Flock of Seagulls.
September 20-something, 1992
Body Count, Metallica, Guns n' Roses! Oakland Coliseum beeeeaaatttchh!
Unfortunately we had to leave after one GnR song (Welcome to the Jungle) because it was a schoolnight, but it still kicked serious ass. At 94 pounds I had no business anywhere near the front or a mosh pit, but that's where I was! I left that show very very bruised, and at one point the bass was so strong that I thought my lungs were going to collapse.
One of my only regrets in my life thus far is not being able to see the entire GnR set. :nonono2:
My parents took me to see Bruce Springsteen when I was, hell, like in 2nd grade or something.
My first real 'on my own' concert was Mighty Mighty Bosstones, at The Vic in Chicago, 1996. Hepcat and H20 opened up. My friend lost his Notre Dame hat, and it was thrown up on stage. Dicky Barret put it on and wore it the rest of the set.
Beach Boys, outdoors, Mt. Cranmore Tennis Stadium early 80's
Not so :yourock:
I can't remember which was first for me--John Denver or Willie Nelson. This was in Spokane in the '70s, so go figure. I was but a wee lad.
This is just too sad. I am fucking old. That's all.
It's o.k. So Lawrence Welk was your first concert. What's the big deal? :fmicon:Quote:

Can't remember which came first, but I think 1984 was the year of my first concert and it was either:
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire tour, or
Van Halen - 1984 tour
I think 1984 was also the year I saw Billy Idol (Rebel Yell tour) and, wait for it . . . Night Ranger.
Oh, and Woodsy, I too caught The Thompson Twins in 1984 w/ special guest Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark.
A) I'm poor as hell and don't really have money for much more than skis, bikes and a little bit of travel.Quote:

The Wailers in 6th or 7th grade.
Actually, it was Aerosmith, AC/DC was the opening band.Quote:

"Hook me up with Liv bro!!!"
I saw Yes in 1988 for the Big Generator tour. I went with my uncle and some of his buddies, who all got wickedly stoned up in the Lawn area (general admission) at the Pacific Ampetheater in SoCal. I was sort of a dopey kid, and had no idea what they were up to until years later.
That was 16 years ago. Phuck, I'm getting old. (But obviously not quite as old as Keoni up there!)
James Taylor, yes I'm 15 and a James Taylor fan. This was the summer of 2003, mid to late August I think is Saratoga Springs, NY at SPAC. Great night for a concert, cool temps with a nice warm breeze and no humidity, a faint hint of reefer in the air. Ahhh, good times.
Judy Collins, 1979. Poughkeepsie, NY (I was a fan at the time from her appearances on Sesame Street)
thats funny, my first was Bob Marley and the Wailers at Music Inn, Lenox MA summer of 1978. I was 9 i guess.Quote:
