Look stoppers for race bindings.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the brakes for Look Zr/P 18/TT9 etc. bindings as an aftermarket item. Or if it is possible to put new brakes on these bindings at all?
I just bought a pair of used skis with P18`s on them, and the original brakes were gone... Instead the previous owner had mounted a pair of Fritshci brakes directly to the ski. He claimed that this worked fine, but it doesn`t and I don`t like the way it looks...(which I wouldn`t mind if it worked well, but as I said, it doesn`t)
And if anyone has a pair of beat up old Look/Rossi greensprings, I`ll gladly take the brakes from them off your hands...

By "stopper" I assume you mean brake. No, you can't get new brakes unless you find someone with some old ones they don't want. I would check ebay for some older look turntable binders and take the brakes off them. You can replace them, you just have to take the screws out and pop off the plastic piece over the back screws and pop off the metal plate on the bottom. Then when the whole shebang blows up you swap out the brakes and get five hands together to put the mother back together. It's not fun, but doable. I bent the brakes on some ZRs and then decided to put them on skinny twin tips, so I took the brakes off some old FKS's I had. The key to getting the metal plate back on the bottom is not force, but finesse. I learned this the hard way with a flathead screwdriver puncture that damn near needed stitches. Have fun.

Yup,brakes. Not easy beeing a norwegian in a foreign language forum.....
I have a pair of Zr`s with bent brakes, and I am going to use these brakes on my new fats so I need a pair of new brakes for my skinnier twintips on which I`m going to mount the Zr`s. If anyone has any lying around please let me know.

Current brake solution. Would work well, but the spring tension in the brakes is not strong enough the way they are mounted.

Ha! Descrides my afternoon perfectly. My ZRs finally showed up today 3 weeks after I paid for them. Open the box and the heels are in about as many pieces as possible. First one took about 45 minutes to get together but the second one only took about ten. What a pain in the ass.

It's been said before, but it really really really helps to have 2 people. And a flathead screwdriver to lock the metal tabs in.

FWIW I played around with the brakes on my ZRs and found there is a knack to getting them back on. After a couple of attempts I could do it in about a minute using two flat head screwdrivers. It's all about being gentle rather than using loads of force. :)

For me, it worked best if I left the spring under the break out until after I put everything back together. You can angle it in and it'll sort of snap into place later.

Come to think of it, you probably could contact dynastar and maybe get a replacement brake for those binders. They do still use that heel piece in their current lineup (P18). But I do think getting an old set from a shop or ebay would be just as easy. For instance, just yesterday an old pair of FZs (Look like ZRs with that neon orange spray paint look, looks like the ones Plake used to rock back in the day, but the din only goes to 10, yet a metal toe piece I think), but I'm snagging the brakes off those bad boys for myself to replace the ones I stole of my FKSs.
