My gf went tonight... I haven't talked to her yet but she just sent a text message that she picked me up posters signed by Nobis, Chris Collins, and Johnny Law. Sweet!
How about the utter lack of a D.C / MD / VA show?
Offered a hand, even tried to get something started m'self - alas, no backup.
(Naming names not really my thing, but DAMN - I even had contacts & a bankroll lined up...I'd say it's "not my loss", but it kinda is/was.)
Is ANYONE else working on something?
dude, there is this thread here.
shoulda been there sham, everyone was down with the whelk, and i got Jonny to shave his head.

John Brown's Body was pretty good...I kind of remember making my way into the front row for a song...Quote:

Cant ~ Yeah, originally, I'd sent (him) an email extending a hand, but he was in the middle of the stuff with Visions. I was told by TGR that he was looking into another venue & I've never heard anything back.
Ice ~ Well, I was going to contact you about doing a show at Liberty. I had (almost) everything lined up, including a Sponsor that I *didn't* think would originally work out....Was even told by TGR that they'd previously contacted Liberty & they were interested hosting a show!
Something very strange went on behind the scenes, but suddenly, Liberty seemed to lose interest. Too bad, considering I had the backing of the Mid-Atlantic Region Jeep rep & 3 Jeep dealerships.
More than a little disappointing, especially after talking to these Jeep execs. & getting them all excited about it. Kinda felt like an ass afterwards having to tell these guys that it wasn't going to happen...
Hence = my loss / TGR's loss / Jeep's loss.
:frown:
That's a bummer. All I know is that a guy from TGR with the screen name of Dudesco or something like that contacted me out of the blue and then he vanished.
When I talked to TGR this week to send in my box office form they sounded pretty bummed that they couldnt get a show together for DC. If for some horrible reason I'm living in DC next year I'll definately try and get a show together. It consumes a ton of time, but its a blast.
They were great! I also made my way to the front row for the final song. I was dead center for most of the time, 4-5 people deep. Tall, short dark hair, Black Burton tee. I was about to shout "Change for a Nickle" but alas I didn't.Quote:

What were you wearing? I prolly saw you.
What are you talking about? I worked the show (Canyons booth) and still caught most of the film and all of the band. You missed out on a good time.Quote:

Hey powstash did you work the D.C. show too?
If so, you got some 'splainin' to do.
p.s. I don't blame you for keeping quiet about going to Boston, those dudes are scary.
um, powstash?
nah, DC isn't a primary market for us. Flights don't work out either.
Didn't think I'd be doing much in Boston besides work and eating chowda. The I spy Nobis and Burks on the flight into Boston and the plans changed. Didn't think to let anyone know until I'm at the show by myself looking around thinking, "geeze, I bet someone here has change for a nickle."
