Voile snakeskins are way cheaper than other skins? Anyone tried them or know about if they work? Durability? Can be trimmed? Huh?

That's a damn good question, as I am in the market for skins too.
I looked on their USA website and it looked like the widest was 68mm. Is there a wider snake skin available?
THEY SUCK!!!
Why do you think eveybody uses real skins?
Cheap as about all you can say about them.
go here - http://www.bdel.com/gear/backcountry/clipfix.php - don't look back
They really suck.... a lot.
Don't bother with them
Go ahead and buy them. Just be aware that after your first day of use, you will be back at the shop buyng some real skins. They absolutely suck ass.
Alrighty then!
I'm back to my orig. choice between G3's and BD's. Any suggestion between the two?
My recent results from experimenting with my skins:
Ascension Glidelite/G3 - if using on multiple pairs of slightly different length skis, or on twin tips.
Ascension ClipFix - One rig, Non-twin tip.
As far as diff. between Glidelite and G3, I can't tell any after having used both. G3s feel a little more durable, like the purple Ascensions.
Snakeskins suck. Don't ever.
Mgear.com has 95mm Clipfix for $80. These will be wide enough for many skis, and not that much of a sacrifice.
I'd actually say they have their place -- as a last-resort for old-school straight skis you don't want to sink more than $20 into. Yes, glide sucks. Yes, they'll wear out quickly, especially on eastern ice. But if you can snag a used pair cheap -- if you know what you're getting into -- they might be OK.
FYI, for my fatter skis, it's clipfix all the way.
That was as of Monday - seems to have disapeared :mad:Quote:
