Does anyone in this forum have any experience regarding prolotherapy for torn or loose ligaments?
Particularly ligaments in the knee like ACL, MCL and PCL.
I am interested in anyones opinions of this technique for shortening stretched ligaments. And whether or not this would be useful for treating a grade 2 PCL injury.
Perhaps Dr Mark can weigh in too.

do a search. splat has discussed it and has had some success.
i talked to my doctor about it - he was against it. he thinks it may give temporary relief but will likely weaken the ligament in the long run. it sounds promising tho, and i do think that the Mayo Clinic (or some other big credible org) was looking into it further.
Yeah, my knees were all over the place. No imagining done, but after 10+ years in braces, I threw them away after 3-4 rounds of prolozone.
what did you have the prolo done on?
Everything in my knees that could benefit from it.

I know of someone with a very similar problem who was successfully treated by a medical office in New York. Also, you should do some research on Prolozone. Its similar to Prolotherapy but usually less injections are needed when doing prolozone. You can call them at 718-544-1444 or 845-425-7997. They were really amazed with the results.
Anyone know if this is available in the Missoula area? My shoulder keeps slipping out on occasion and throwing all the other muscles into spasm.
IDK how i threw out my left shoulder wrenching really hard with my right arm, but at least now I have clipless pedals. :)
I just googled, and it looks like there is someone here who does it, but she's neither a doctor nor a nurse. Is that typical? I'm not sure I want someone sticking needles way into my shoulder who isn't a dr or rn. Actually, I'd trust an rn more than a doc.
I'm going to have it done next month on my back so I've done some research (and my wife's a doctor). There isn't a lot of proof either way to support or disprove it's effectiveness. A couple of friends have had it and say it's helped them, but nothing long term. I'll let you know how my treatment goes.
To clarify, I had prolozone. which is the prolo plus ozone, which is pure oxygen. In one of my posts here in gimp is an interview vid with a doctor who does prolozone and he explains it all quite well. I've broken my back a few times and it really helped there. It was like I immediately stood up straight.
edit: I would imagine that with the advent of PRP we might see the prolozone/PRP combo being used as an effective treatment for knee problems like yours.
Just had my third round. No real change yet but my Physio tells me it takes a while to work... Plus exercises.
It took 11 days for me to notice an improvement on my first round in my knees. Then it kept getting better every time. But for 10 days I was like 'holy shit' wobbly from all the fluid from the injection. Now that I've done stem cells/prp/ hgh, I feel like I've transcended to the next level.
Went skiing in for two days and aside from some general stiffness, the back held up pretty good! Still can't go running yet though.

i have not had it done yet, but plan to at some point in the future. definitely, stem cell when i do it.
I've now done three rounds and for a while it was getting better but recently the pain's have been back full force... Gonna try another three rounds (apparently most ppl see results at 6). Note, gotta keep up the Physio after each treatment
How much does this cost and how often does one have to go? I have apparently damaged my ACL but am getting no symptoms of slipping out or whatever (I can ski no problem) but I have laxity on the lachman test. I guess, the ACL won't heal on its own but may with prolo? I would have to go out of the country to do it though, so I need to weigh that in my decision.
