An Interesting Election Correlation

I was contemplating the map of the 2004 Presidential Election results as tablulated (and colored) by county, and I noticed an interesting correlation. Almost all of the counties in the west which host what in my opinion are the "best" ski areas (in terms of terrain, snowfall, and being worth moving to for a season or twelve of skiing/boarding) were blue, having gone to John Kerry.

What does this say, if anything, about the political tendencies (intelligence???) of ski bums? Methinks 48% of us are a very smart bunch.

You put Baker in Snohomish County, when it's actually in Whatcom County, but they're both blue, so no harm done.

You can also include Routt County, CO (Steamboat) which went to Kerry.

Well, that was to be expected given the amount of coffee I've had this morning, which directly correlates to the accuracy of my mousing abilities...

And besides, who moves to Steamboat besides future customers of Mike Wiegele? Me, I'd rather go to Points North....

While you are correct about the counties, Truckee, Tahoe City, and South Lake all went to Kerry if you look up the numbers. I made damn well sure that every one I know was registered to vote up here, and I'd say 98% of them did. I handed in absentee ballots for lots of friends who were out of town. Didn;t care who they voted for, but I made fucking sure they voted.

Bachelor is in Deschutes County and it went to Bush, I wish it was in right here close by in Lane County (hey its named after you!).

God I screwed up a lot of locations!
