Nothings new in the ski industry

Here is a few tidbits IU have found in old issues of powder while doing research for my ski project:

Powder fall 81
Marker Electronic binding:
Almost identical in vbasci desing to the current atomic elctronic bindings same principles and technology, just different look

Reverse sidecut
Fischer introduced the first reverse sidecut on its skis, side cut was reversed under foot inorder to increase edge penetration on ice.

Lacroix 1st carbonfiber / kevlar ski Retailed for $500.00
Note: Vielhahen did the same thing at teh same itme

F2
First binding desinged tobe transfered to multiple pairs of skis using a plate system that was mounted on the ski. Extremly simmular to the new Line bindings

Kniesel
First reverse camber ski. modle was the kneissel blue star, developed inorder to make it easier for beginers to turn.


Oh yeha and salomon did the rear pivot point beefore line did too, circa 70's

Sure....slinging old shit to the next generation that knows nothing about it.....why not?

Here's to hoping that this jibber shit doesn't die out like the hot dogging stuff circa Whane Wong....

great, so it failed the first time around, just to be redone again.

I'm breathlessly awaiting the triumphant return of the Spademan or Marker Sensomatic bindings and the "thumb-breaker" strapless pole grips...

I saw a guy at Copper the other day with suspiciously new looking Scott Schmidt Work Jacket and Smear pants. I latter found out that TNF is making it again. I don’t know what would poses anyone to buy them now my excuse for having them 12 years ago was that I was 15 and it was the early 90s.
