Your question is a very good one. I do not have an exact answer. Send us some photos. Love to see it. Is Sylvan with Craig's company or seperate?
you wasted a whole post on that?
access is a BITCH. once you actually get there, Sylvan is one of the only helis in the entire region. skiers would have to spend a few days getting used to the altitude. high season for the type of big lines TGR would want is mid march - mid april = prime AK season...
all that said i would love to see it one day.
Sylvan isn't one of the only, he is the only. One heli, no backups, no contingency plan, that heli gets a mechanical issue you can bet it won't be fixed for at least a week. You would be much better off going to menali, established heli there year round, not just for a week or two a year, guides that know the area and all that. Really, if you want to film in Kashmir/India, you need to send a crew with touring bindings for at least a month between early mid feb and early mid march. B4apres is the first film company that I know of that did it properly, actually putting the time in to get good skiing, and they (their two filmers) were here all season with their talent showing up for a few weeks at a time.
