Flakey Subscription Notifications

This probably could go in Tech Talk, but it pertains to the TGR forum itself and I have seen similar posts in the past end up here, so here goes...

I've noticed as of late that I sometimes don't receive email notifications for threads that I am subscribed to. I've got it setup to send me an instant email notification, however, I've noticed recently that I don't receive all of them or will go through periods where I don't receive any at all. Interestingly visiting the site seems to reset this phenomena and everything will work again for a period of time. I could possibly see how the notifications could get eaten on the server side given the amount of traffic this board sees, but this didn't happen (or was less noticeable) in the past.

Did you guys update the vBulletin version recently? Is anyone else seeing this behavior.

Sometimes Gmail gets emails direct from website and puts them in spam. Hotmail is even worse. Not sure what email you have, but that could be an issue...

Nothing is getting flagged as spam, the notification just aren't being sent as far as I can tell. It's also odd that visiting the site seems to reset things, temporarily.

That was my only guess. I have no idea then, it's always worked for me.

The mighty RaccoonFace has figured it out! It looks like once you receive a notification, you need to visit the thread to continue to receive notifications. If you don't, you won't receive anymore notifications. Slightly annoying, however, I can see why it would behave like this.
