yeah sounds pretty unsafe. I wish the snowmachine dealers sold rescue gear and upsold it. its pretty rediculous that someone who buys a mountain sled doesn't buy beacon, shovel and probe with it. dealers could make more money and maybe let people know some of the dangers of braapin' in the bc.
i thought it was pretty funny though how the SAR guy rolled up on them and snapped a pic of the guy with his sled stuck in the hangfire.

So from the CAIC report you could surmise the dumb-ass was not scared by almost dying by suffocation and almost having his slide come down on his head, so he went at the same slope again until he "conquered" it, while his friends kept a safe distance away. Hmmm...... brave

How come at a ski area the snow left hanging after doing control work is a controlled slope and when it is natural it is hangfire?
